HIV Positive Sex
HIV Positive Dating and Safe Sex
Just like anyone, when it comes to dating, you'll inevitably come around to the subject of sex. After all, sex is an important ingredient of companionship and life is simply not the same without it. However, when it comes to HIV positive dating, it is very hard to ignore the fact that you carry a virus that is easily spread as a result of unprotected sexual contact. You'll therefore need to find a way around this problem because it is not realistic to stay celibate once you test positive for this virus.
Many positive singles prefer not to approach people who do not have the virus because they are afraid of being rejected when they eventually come clean about their status. However, if you do have a relationship with such a person then you'll have to ensure that you practice safe sex at all times. At no time should you have sex without a condom. You should also ensure that you explain to your HIV negative partners about your status.
You'll find it far easier if you visit HIV dating sites in order to find people you could date. Since all the people here share your infection there are very few problems to be faced when it comes to getting understanding. Of course, you will have pretty much the same problems that most other couples face.
Many HIV dating couples feel that it is perfectly acceptable to have unprotected sex with each other since they both share the dreaded virus. However, it is important to remember that condoms serve far more useful purposes. They also help prevent the spread of venereal diseases. Of course you can dispense with their use if you are absolutely certain that you and your partner are not sexually active elsewhere. If however you prefer to pursue sexual relationships with many people then you certainly should stick to the use of condoms.
You do have to remember that HIV spreads through blood, semen and vaginal fluids. This is why condoms should be used whenever you have vaginal or anal sex. Oral sex should also be avoided if the person has the virus just in case there are lesions or cuts in the other person's mouth. Just to be on the safe side it's a good idea to avoid taking too much alcohol or any drugs when you have sex because they might cause you to forget safe sex practices. The virus does not live in saliva which is why there is no problem in kissing.
Condoms also help prevent pregnancies from occurring. HIV positive mothers do give birth to healthy babies as long as they take the necessary precautions. If you are just interested in casual HIV positive dating then you certainly should insist that all sex you participate in be safe. It is also a good idea for you and your partner to get tested regularly for sexually transmitted diseases in case you absolutely wish to have unprotected sex with each other. You will be able to lead a happy and sexually active life in spite of this disease as long as you take these precautions.
